Autumn: The Human Condition by David Moody

I don't know about you, but I don't like buying the same thing twice. I want digital AND analogue, and as a consumer, I like to have that choice. I still buy most of the music I listen to on CD, even though the first thing I do with each new disc is shove it into my computer and rip it to iTunes. I'm a physical kind of man... can't help it.

I love real books. I love the smell of them, the feel of them, the satisfaction of having them on my shelf, the buzz of browsing through a proper bookstore... Trouble is, I like ebooks too. I like the convenience and the flexibility. I like being able to read books on my phone or on any other gadget I happen to have to hand. There's no right or wrong way to read a book. That people keep reading is all that matters.

I've been giving this a lot of thought recently, and my resurrection of Infected Books has given me an opportunity to try something new. I'm taking a really low-fi approach to this, so bear with me. Basically, here's the deal:

If you buy any of my Infected Books titles in hardcover or paperback, you'll be able to visit a special page on and generate a code to claim a complimentary ebook copy in whichever format your heart desires. Likewise, if you buy an ebook and then wish you'd picked up a print edition, you'll be able to claim a discount on the same book to the value of the ebook you originally purchased. Does that make sense?

I feel I should point out a few things:
  • You must be the original purchaser of the book in question to qualify, or have received the book as a gift.
  • Discounts offered against print books will only be redeemable against signed paperbacks/hardcovers ordered direct from Infected Books via
  • I reserve the right to suspend/amend/terminate this initiative at any time.
  • This offer only applies to titles published by Infected Books since 2012. Any of my other books published by Thomas Dunne Books, Gollancz, or any other publisher, are NOT eligible (nor are any IB titles published prior to 2012).
Details of the programme, including the website address to visit, will be included in the relevant books or ebook files.

The best of both worlds! I hope this works and that you'll take advantage of this offer. If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line.  ·  go back  ·   order
