The German language edition of TRUST is released today by Voodoo Press. TRUST is a book I’m very proud of. It’s different from most of my other stuff, and it was the first of my pre-HATER Infected Books novels to be rewritten and re-released. There’s been movie interest in the novel from time to time and I think of all my books not under option, it’s the story I’d most like to see on screen. It deliberately goes against all the typical alien contact cliches, and I think original cover artist CRAIG PATON said it best when he called TRUST an anti-science-fiction novel.
To learn more about the book (and to read the first half of the story online), visit www.trustdavidmoody.com or click the image below.
The German edition of the novel is available now from Amazon.de and other retailers, and signed copies of the UK version (including one copy of the ultra-rare limited edition hardcover with additional bonus content) can be picked up from www.infectedbooks.co.uk.
Five months seems to have flown by in five minutes. I’ve been serialising TRUST since the 23rd July and today the final chapters have been posted. The entire novel is now available for your reading pleasure at www.trustdavidmoody.com. The book will be staying online until the end of January at least, though I’ve not yet decided exactly how long. That’s assuming, of course, the world doesn’t end today!
Please share the book with your friends or via Facebook or Twitter etc. If you’d prefer a physical copy to read, you can always pick up the paperback (Amazon/B&N/Book Depository/Waterstones/Infected Books) or the limited edition signed hardcover (which includes an exclusive essay). The eBook is available in a range of formats: Kindle/Nook/Kobo/iBook/ePub/everything else.
Huge thanks once again to Craig Paton for the stunning artwork he produced for the book (click here to see a selection), and to Dan Boucher for turning a 2001-style Flash movie into a 2012-style landing screen. Thanks also to all the reviewers who gave the book their time, and to Moody’s Survivors for their support and help with publicity. Cheers, all!
I’ve really enjoyed revisiting TRUST and putting together this definitive version. Resurrecting Infected Books has been a pleasure, and I’ve a few more IB releases planned for 2013 including the AUTUMN: AFTERMATH hardcover, and a long-overdue re-release of AUTUMN: THE HUMAN CONDITION.
…is now online at www.trustdavidmoody.com. Apologies for the brevity of my posts right now – working hard to get something important finished before Christmas. More information coming soon.
Chapter 30 of the book is now online at www.trustdavidmoody.com.For those of you waiting for the Kobo, Nook and iBook versions of the book, they should all be online shortly. Apologies for taking a while to make it happen.

More TRUST on Friday. If you’re not reading it yet, you really should be. Things are properly kicking off in Thatcham now, and it’s about to get much, much worse!
Things are starting to get really weird in Thatcham in today’s new chapter – read it now at www.trustdavidmoody.com.

The second TRUST update of the week is here, and it follows on the back of an absolutely wonderful 10/10 review from STARBURST magazine. “TRUST is a slow-burner and all the richer for it. The layers of characters and details of the story play out perfectly when matched with an ending you’re not likely to forget. It’s also an outstanding novel, delivers in more ways than one, and is worthy of a place on the discerning fan’s bookshelf.” Chapter 17 brings the second part of the novel to a close, and you can read it here.
I owe an apology to Craig Paton – the artist responsible for the book’s phenomenal artwork. Craig sent me a number of very cool mocked-up images which you can see making up the background of the cover, and I haven’t yet displayed them. I’m going to start putting that right today, and more of Craig’s illustrations will appear here in the coming weeks.
That’s all for now. Have a great weekend. Don’t forget – if you have a few minutes spare, you could always try and snag yourself a free copy of the limited edition hardcover of TRUST. Click here for details.
Okay, here at long last are the details for the Infected Books limited edition hardcover of TRUST which will be released on Monday 3rd September.
The release is strictly limited to 500 signed and numbered copies. The image you see here is just for effect – the real book is far better looking with a full wraparound dust jacket designed by Craig Paton. As well as the 2012 version of the novel, the limited edition also includes an exclusive (and snappily titled, I think!) 5,000 word essay about the novel: ‘Standing on the Edge of a Cliff, Thinking About the End of the World.’
The book will be priced at £25 plus postage, and will be available direct from Infected Books. You can click here to pre-order. There’s a 10% discount and reduced postage rates on all orders received before the end of August.
One more thing… several other Infected Books releases are being planned for the next couple of years, with three titles already in the pipeline – two for 2013 and one in early 2014. There will be limited edition hardcovers of each of these books, all numbered and signed as per this release of TRUST. If you pre-order TRUST, you’ll be invited to buy the subsequent IB releases before general pre-orders for those books begin.
Hope this is all okay. Thanks for your patience. Sorry it took a while longer than planned to get these details out. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
I wanted to give you a glimpse of the fantastic TRUST cover art which has been created by Craig Paton, one of my favourite artists and someone I go back to time and again. I think Craig’s done a great job with this cover, and his illustration has captured the look of the aliens (if that is an alien…) perfectly. There’s also a lot of background detail which you’ll get to see more of in due course. Click on the cover to see a bigger version of the image.
More information on the release of the book will follow in the next few weeks, including pre-orders for the extremely limited hardcover edition which will include exclusive additional material. In the meantime, please keep an eye on www.trustdavidmoody.com and use the buttons at the bottom of the page to share with your friends. After all, who doesn’t like a free book? Remember I’ll be serialising the entire novel online between 23rd July and mid-December.
Less than two months to go now before TRUST is re-released. Over the coming weeks I’ll be drip-feeding information about the book. A new website is now live: www.trustdavidmoody.com – please head on over and, if you don’t mind, start spreading the word.
For those of you who weren’t around when TRUST was originally released and don’t know anything about the book, here’s a brief blurb. More details to come very soon.
“Stephen Hawking said “If aliens ever visit us, I think the outcome would be much as when Christopher Columbus first landed in America, which didn’t turn out very well for the Native Americans.”
A world brought up on stories of alien invasions and wars with other planets is asked to open its arms to three hundred aliens who are stranded in their crippled mining ship. The eyes of the entire world are focused on the village of Thatcham: the site of the first confirmed contact with an alien species.
Their arrival affects everyone. Barriers are broken down, perspectives are altered, and the life of every single person on the planet is changed forever as science-fiction becomes science-fact.
But not everyone is convinced. Some people are more cautious. Tom Winter knows that if he’s right about the aliens, more than seven billion others are wrong.”
With huge thanks to Dan Boucher (www.wicked-concept.com) and Craig Paton (www.craigpaton.com).
Had a great time at Waterstones in Swindon on Saturday with Wayne Simmons at our final stop on the ‘Never Trust a Man With Hair’ tour. A highlight was getting to meet the real Kieran Cope (remind yourself of his story here and here), and presenting him with a signed print of the stunning artwork produced by Craig Paton.
It’s not the first time I’ve met someone who appears as a character in one of my books. Who could forget Swill Odgers from The Men They Couldn’t Hang, and his and the band’s appearance in chapter 4 of HATER?
And in case you’ve missed my numerous plugs recently, you can now get signed copies of the UK paperback edition of AUTUMN: AFTERMATH from my Infected Bookstore and Amazon, and if you’re interested in the limited edition hardcover due out in early 2013, register your interest here.
