A quick post to comment on one excellent event and for some last minute publicity for another. Last weekend I was at alt.fiction – a great writing event held in Leicester. On Saturday I took part in a panel discussing adaptations of books, films, comics, games etc. into different formats, and on Sunday I was there for another Mammoth Book of Body Horror panel along with the book’s editors Paul Kane and Marie O’Regan, and fellow contributors Simon Clark and Conrad Williams.

It was great to meet Graham Joyce too, and to be there for the premier of Black Dust – an excellent short movie based on one of his stories. Thanks to everyone who supported the weekend and to the organisers for having me.
I know I’m leaving this next bit late, but don’t forget that I’ll be at Waterstones in Cardiff tomorrow, signing with Wayne Simmons. Wayne’s launching his new novel DOLL PARTS – the sequel to DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. Please come along if you’re in the area. We’ll be there from 12:30pm onwards.
I hope not to leave it another two weeks before posting again. With a little luck I’ll be back in a few days to let you know what I’m working on now that the HATER and AUTUMN books are done and dusted. There’s some good stuff coming…
Got a few things to quickly tell you about today, and I thought adding them all to one blog post would be the best way to do it:
THE GOODREADS ZOMBIE GROUP
If you’re a Goodreads user and a zombie fan, why not join The Zombie Group? For one week from 24th October, Jonathan Maberry, Steven C Schlozman (author of The Zombie Autopsies) and I will be there talking about all things undead. By the way, I’m here on Goodreads if you want to add me as a friend.
ALL HALLOWS READ
Have you heard about this great initiative, brainchild of the great Neil Gaiman? Rather than me explain it, just click this link and listen to the man himself talking about his excellent idea for a new Halloween tradition.
EVENTS AND APPEARANCES
Just a reminder that I’m NOT now appearing at the Aliens to Zombies convention in LA this week – apologies to anyone who was heading there to say hello. However I’m pleased to announce that I’ll be signing at Cardiff Waterstone’s with Wayne Simmons on Friday 28th October from 12:30pm. Also, don’t forget to book your tickets for the Halloween Horror Night at Warwick Arts Centre where I’ll be reading and talking alongside Adam Nevill and Gary McMahon.
Apologies for the serious lack of updates recently – I’ve got plenty to tell you about, but finding time to post has been impossible. Ahh… that great British tradition of 6 week long summer holidays from school. As a kid it was immense – an undoubted highlight of the year. As a dad of many, trying to balance a stack of deadlines and work from home, it’s a complete bitch! I’ve been for a flight in a hot air balloon, spent a week at the seaside, made a few trips to the cinema and we’re only at week 3! Meanwhile, Hater #3 is sitting on my desk, frustratingly close to being finished, and there’s a pile of Autumn edits waiting…
Back to business. I’m really pleased to announce that I’ll be a guest at the Grimm Up North festival in Manchester this Halloween, talking about book to film adaptations and signing copies of AUTUMN which will be released on 28th October. Click here for more information. I’ll hopefully see some of you there.
Right. Back to work while the kids are temporarily occupied…!
Hope to see some of you tomorrow at Forbidden Planet in London where I’ll be signing DOG BLOOD on the day of its UK release. I’ll be there from 6pm – 7pm.

And stay tuned UK readers, for a DOG BLOOD giveaway at the end of the week. In the meantime, don’t forget to read EVERYTHING AND NOTHING, the free prequel to DOG BLOOD. Visit wwwhttp://davidmoody.net/books/hater/ for more details.
I’ll be signing copies of DOG BLOOD on the day of its UK release (17 June) at Forbidden Planet in London. I’ll be there between 6pm and 7pm so please come along and say hello (and buy a book or two!). Click here for more information.
