More people have been saying nice things about CHOKEHOLD. 2bookloversreviews said: “Authors are able to accomplish some incredible things: they create worlds that captivate people, they imagine characters that complete strangers connect with, they make people forget, temporarily, about the normal lives they live. David Moody has accomplished all of this with his Hater world.”
And I was equally pleased with AintitCool’s feedback (even though they got my name wrong in the headline!): “The novel is a speedy downhill slalom race to the final war between the Haters and Unchanged. There’s no air to breathe, every page is crisp and determined. As characters you love draw to their unfortunate ends, you’re left in their ashes wondering if anyone will make it out alive. It’s everything a novel on war should feel like. Desolate and relentless, no one is safe here. David Moody has put together a completely satisfactory end to this trilogy.”
Not long left now before the Infected Bookstore closes its virtual doors for good (though some signed books will still be available via this site and eBay and Amazon). I just wanted to update you on what’s still available.
I’ve just found a few original Infected Books editions, and there are still some AUTUMN and HATER bundles. Click the link below for more details or go straight to www.infectedbooks.co.uk.
I did say it would be quiet around here… I’ll have more for you later this week (some interesting stuff too, I hope). In the meantime, because I really don’t like not updating the site, here’s a gratuitous post designed to make you part with some of your hard-earned cash!
And that leads me onto a slightly more serious question. I’ve been giving these T-shirts away for years – would you buy one if they were available? My phone has a snazzy HATER cover – would you want one of those? (Apologies for the photo, by the way – I was scared any other pose with a phone would make it look like I was taking a flirtatious picture of myself in the mirror). If there’s any interest (in the phone cover, not flirtatious pictures of me) I’ll get something put together. T-shirts, phone covers, mousemats, mugs… everything looks better with a little bloody scrawl added.
Let me know in the comments if there’s any HATER/AUTUMN merchandise you’ve always wanted and I’ll see if I can make it happen. Until then I’ll just keep giving this stuff away!
Some proper news to follow soon. Have a good week.
Update: Four hours later…
Wow, what a response. I thought this was just a throwaway post, but you’ve really gone for it! Thanks! As of now there’s one free T-shirt left to claim – the next order gets it!
You’ve sent me some great ideas for merchandise. HATER bags, beanie hats etc. etc. I’ll go away and see what I can do now. If you have any other ideas, just let me know. Either email or use Facebook or Twitter.
One thing – several folks have requested AUTUMN merchandise. That might be a little more problematic, as I don’t own the artwork (I designed the original HATER logo shown on the phone case above). But leave it with me. More news soon.
Firstly, thanks to all of you who made bids in the Genre for Japan auctions. An incredible total of £11, 139.36 was raised which I think surpassed all expectations. The AUTUMN auction went for an amazing £290!
Second, you may remember a while back (November, actually – click here for the post), I announced that I’d be making a donation to charity for every book sold in my annual end of year signed book sale. I’m pleased to have recently been able to send a cheque for £75 to SMIRA, an organisation that’s very close to my heart (and here’s a reminder why).
It’s that time of year again… I’ve just updated the INFECTED BOOKS website with details of this year’s signed book sale. Please head on over for a chance to pick up some signed editions. There are copies of the new UK hardcover edition of AUTUMN, and some great discounts on US and UK editions of HATER.
